His father was a rich landowner who originated a family with robust roots in Tuscany plus the city of Livorno. Bizzarrini had been fired by Ferrari during the "palace revolt" of 1961. He became part connected with Automobili Turismo e Game (ATS)), a company started through the ex-Ferrari engineers to create a Formula 1 single seater and also a GT sport car, the A. T. S. Serenissima. One of ATS's fiscal backers, Count Giovanni Volpi, owner of Scuderia Serenissima, hired Bizzarrini to update a Ferrari 250 GT SWB, with chassis number #2819GT for you to GTO specifications. This resulted in the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Drogo often known as the "Breadvan".Bizzarrini's engineering company, Societa Autostar, was commissioned to pattern a V-12 engine for any GT car to possibly be built by another discontented Ferrari customer, Ferruccio Lamborghini. Lamborghini considered the resulting engine to be too highly strung, and ordered that that be detuned.

Bizzarrini worked since 1964 intended for Iso Rivolta and formulated three models: Iso Rivolta GT, Iso Grifo both A3L and also A3C versions. His work was in order to develop a pressed steel body chassis for Iso autos. Renzo Rivolta hired him as consultant on the Iso Gordon GT venture which became the Iso Rivolta GT. The Iso Gordon GT prototype was developed from the Gordon-Keeble. The Gordon Keeble GT seemed to be designed in 1960 by simply Giugiaro. Bizzarrini tested the car or truck and was impressed with the powerful V8 Corvette engine and also the rear De Dion tube for the GT:'Rivolta received me test the prototype. I liked its De Dion pipe and especially the Corvette serp. It was the first time I had driven one particular. It was superior in order to Ferrari's engines, having the same power but with a more immediate throttle result. 'The Iso Rivolta GT had been a Giugiaro designed some seater with beautiful system, speed, comfort and handling, and was a effective car for ISO using 799 units sold. Powered by a 327ci Chevrolet Corvette V8 engine with a classic De Dion raise suspension design with hard pressed steel monocoque bodywork over pressed steel frame framework. Unveiled to the mass media in 1963, production continued until 1970.The Iso Grifo A3L has been a monstrous idea for a super coupé, the L coming through Lusso. The result of the brilliant Giugiaro and Bizzarrini doing work together, it was based on a shortened Iso Rivolta GT framework and was debuted at the 1963 Turin show. The Grifo epitomised your 1960s Italian style having its handsome low and vast handmade bodywork. It was the speediest production car tested by Autocar Magazine in 1966 that has a top speed of one hundred sixty mph (260 km/h). Later versions of your Grifo were powered by way of a big block Chevrolet Corvette 435 bhp (324 kW; 441 PS) serp. These 90 handbuilt units are distinguishable from the raised "pagoda style" details bonnet. Some of these Iso Grifo 7 Litri models were rebuilt later with a great deal larger engines.

The thought of Bizzarrini was to operate the 3AL cars for competition. The competition versions from the Grifo were named Iso Grifo A3C, C for Competizione as well as Corsa. A new lightweight riveted aluminium lightweight body was designed in addition to built by Piero Drogo. It was an strongly designed machine, oriented to endurance events. It uses normal ISO underpinnings even so the engine was moved further back the chassis frame as opposed to Grifo A3L, protruding well into the actual driver's cabin, fitted with hot cameras and fed by 4 big Weber carburettors, giving more than 400 bhp (298 kW; 406 PS).

A3Cs were widely raced. Some cars entered the actual 1964 and 1965 Le Mans 24 hour, 1965 Nürburgring 1000 and 1965 Sebring. It achieved a Le Mans class win in both years plus a 9th overall in 1965 without factory support. A3Cs were one from the fastest cars on LeMans' Mulsanne Right in both years.
